The CAPRISTO Mucielago LP640 high-performance complete system is designed to provide a balanced increase in power, rideability, and sound quality, while also significantly reducing weight. This is achieved while maintaining the CAPRISTO "best of both worlds" philosophy, which provides the ability to produce an aggressive exhaust note under acceleration and a more subdued sound for city driving.

This feature is possible using vacuum-actuated valve flaps that open and close depending on driving conditions and driver input. At low engine speeds and during cruising, the valves are closed, producing a deeper exhaust note. At full throttle, the valves open, releasing the full symphony of the engine.
The exhaust valves are controlled by backpressure and via the included Valve Controller Remote, which allows the flaps to be permanently open, without the series control being able to intervene. When the exhaust valve system is closed again via the remote control unit, the series control unit will resume control of the exhaust valves. This allows for precise control of the exhaust based on personal taste and driver tolerance.
The exhaust tip is CNC machined from a solid block of aluminum and then ceramic coated for a finish, durability, and unique style.
CAPRISTO exhaust systems are designed and manufactured using advanced 3D laser scanning, CAD design, digital prototyping, and CNC bending/milling at our facility in Germany. Each system is machined from high-quality T309 (1.4828) stainless steel and hand-polished to a mirror-like finish. After extensive research, this specific alloy was chosen for its sonic resonance properties, low weight, and durability that are close to the properties of Inconel (used in F1).
The headers adopt a 6-3-1 design and significantly modified pipe routing compared to stock headers to maximize exhaust flow.
The high-performance sport catalytic converters feature a 250-cell-per-square-inch substrate, made from the highest quality materials currently available, designed to improve vehicle airflow and increase performance.
The cell count of a catalytic substrate refers to the number of holes per square inch and is a direct indication of that substrate's flow capabilities. The lower the hole count, the larger the hole needs to be to fill a square inch; a larger hole subsequently allows more exhaust gas to flow.
All that high flow won't help if the substrate is "squeezed" into a can or tube that's too small in diameter. For this reason, the CAPRISTO Sports Cat is packaged in 5.2-inch packages to maximize exhaust gas flow and valved exhaust system operation.

Replacing the OEM catalytic converter(s) may cause a Check Engine Light (CEL).
To disable a recurring CEL, you will need to tune the ECU or use 02 sensor extensions.
