The 4-2-1 design of these headers maximizes torque and power in the midrange of the power envelope, right where the driver needs it. The bends and connection points have a constant radius design that maximizes exhaust gas flow. These headers are built as light and strong as possible.
These high-performance headers deliver a noticeable increase in horsepower and torque. Because they are compatible with the original catalytic converters, the headers can also be used as a cost-effective replacement for faulty OEM headers.
The headers come standard with the new innovative CAPRISTO heat shield. The heat shields are made from an extremely heat-resistant material, initially developed and used by NASA. This helps reduce radiant heat from exhaust headers and sports catalytic converters. The shields are heat-resistant for temperatures up to 1300 degrees Celsius.
Reduced heat or temperature in the engine compartment improves performance. Cooler airboxes result in cooler air temperatures for the engine to "breathe." In turn, denser air produces more horsepower.
Because the exterior of the hot, glaring exhaust is protected from the surrounding environment, the shields also reduce the possibility of fire that sometimes results from fluid/oil contact with the exhaust system.
Heat shields can also be attached to the headers at a later date without disassembly.
Header headers CANNOT be installed and used WITHOUT these heat shields.
If you wish to retain the original OEM exhaust (muffler), you must replace the exhaust mounts and brackets with the CAPRISTO mounting kit.
INSTALLER NOTE:
It is important to note that these headers should not be torqued to more than 24 Nm or 17.5 ft-lbs.
Overtightening will cause the pin to fail and/or damage the cylinder head.
