*This system fits BOTH V6 and V8 models of the B8 chassis*
The iconic CAPRISTO valve exhaust system offers the best of both worlds with its ability to produce an aggressive exhaust note under acceleration and a more subdued sound for around-town driving.
On V8 models, the Capristo exhaust shows a massive 20 horsepower increase in performance/torque across the entire speed range and the sound gets an aggressive V8 rumble.
On V6 engines, there is a noticeable increase in torque in the lower speed range. The sound is significantly more aggressive than the standard system. Replacing the Cat and muffler is a prerequisite for the performance increase (ECU tuning). The pipe diameters are larger than stock.
This feature is achieved by using vacuum-actuated valve flaps that open and close depending on driving conditions and driver input. At lower engine speeds and during cruising, the valves are closed, producing a deeper exhaust note. With the throttle wide open, the valves open, releasing the full engine symphony.
The exhaust valves are backpressure-controlled and user-programmable via the included CES-3 control module. The programmable control unit provides 3 modes operated via a remote control:
Cruise exhaust valves open at higher RPMs
Sport exhaust valves open at lower RPMs and hard acceleration
Open exhaust valves stay open
Both Cruise and Sport modes can be individually programmed for specific backpressure limits to determine when the exhaust valves open. This allows for precise exhaust control based on personal taste and driver tolerance.
CAPRISTO exhaust systems are designed and manufactured using advanced 3D laser scanning, CAD design, digital prototyping, and CNC bending/milling in our factory in Germany. Each system is crafted from high-quality T309 (1.4828) stainless steel and hand-polished to a mirror finish. After extensive research, this specific alloy was chosen for its sound resonance properties, low weight and durability that are close to the properties of Inconel (used in F1).
