The iconic CAPRISTO valved exhaust system offers the best of both worlds with its ability to produce an aggressive exhaust note under acceleration and a more subdued sound for around-town driving.
This feature is achieved using vacuum-actuated valve flaps that open and close depending on driving conditions and driver input. At lower engine speeds and during cruising, the valves are closed, producing a deeper exhaust note. With wide-open throttle, the valves open, releasing the full symphony of the engine.
The exhaust valves are backpressure-controlled and user-programmable via the included CES-3 control module. The programmable control unit provides 3 modes operated via a remote control:
Cruise exhaust valves open at higher RPMs
Sport exhaust valves open at lower RPMs and hard acceleration
Open exhaust valves stay open
Both Cruise and Sport modes can be individually programmed for specific backpressure limits to determine when the exhaust valves open. This allows for precise exhaust control based on personal taste and driver tolerance.
CAPRISTO exhaust systems are designed and manufactured using advanced 3D laser scanning, CAD design, digital prototyping, and CNC bending/milling in our factory in Germany. Each system is crafted from high-quality T309 (1.4828) stainless steel and hand-polished to a mirror finish. After extensive research, this specific alloy was chosen for its sound resonance properties, low weight, and durability that are close to the properties of Inconel (used in F1).
250 CELL SPORT CATALYST:
High-performance sport catalytic converters feature a 250-cell per square inch substrate made from the highest quality materials currently available, designed to improve airflow to your vehicle and increase performance.
The cell count of a catalytic substrate refers to the number of holes per square inch and is a direct indication of the flow capabilities of that substrate. The fewer the holes, the larger the hole needs to be to fill a square inch; a larger hole subsequently allows more exhaust gas to flow.
All that high flow won't help if the substrate is "squeezed" into a small-diameter container or pipe. For this reason, CAPRISTO sport cats come packaged in 5.2-inch packages to maximize exhaust gas flow and valved exhaust system operation.

Replacing the OEM catalytic converter may activate a CEL (Check Engine Light).
To disable a recurring CEL, you will need to tune the ECU or use 02 sensor extensions.
