This feature is achieved using vacuum-actuated valve flaps that open and close depending on driving conditions and driver input. At low engine speeds and during cruising, the valves are closed, producing a deeper exhaust note. At full throttle, the valves open, releasing the full symphony of the engine.
The exhaust valves are controlled by backpressure via the Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE) control button located in your car's cockpit.
Both Cruise and Sport modes can be individually programmed for specific backpressure tolerances to determine when the exhaust valves open. This allows for precise control of the exhaust based on personal taste and driver tolerance.
CAPRISTO exhaust systems are designed and manufactured using advanced 3D laser scanning, CAD design, digital prototyping, and CNC bending/milling at our facility in Germany. Each system is crafted from high-quality T309 (1.4828) stainless steel and hand-polished to a mirror-like finish. After extensive research, this specific alloy was chosen for its resonant properties, low weight, and durability, which are close to those of Inconel (used in F1).
