The cell count of a catalytic converter refers to the number of holes per square inch and is a direct indication of the flow capabilities of that converter. The lower the hole count, the larger the hole must be to fill a square inch; a larger hole subsequently allows more exhaust gas to flow.
All that high flow won't help if the converter is "squeezed" into a can or pipe that's too small in diameter. For this reason, the GT2RS CAPRISTO Sports Cats are packaged in a 130mm (ID 127mm) package to maximize exhaust gas flow and valved exhaust system operation. 65mm ID on the Capristo valves.
The CAPRISTO valved exhaust system helps with low-rpm torque by providing exhaust backpressure and increases temperature for proper catalytic converter operation. While in the high RPM open-valve condition, it takes full advantage of the free-flow characteristics of the CAPRISTO Sport Cats by optimizing the high-energy exhaust at the ideal temperature and backpressure to maximize performance.
These catalytic converters can be easily bolted onto CAPRISTO exhaust systems or any system that fits directly into the OEM exhaust.
Recommended for off-road and track use only
Replacing the OEM catalytic converter(s) may cause the CEL (Check Engine Light) to come on; however, the Capristo catalytic converter substrates have been treated with a special proprietary coating that prevents the CEL light from coming on!
