***The factory F430 exhaust mounting bracket has a critical design flaw. The solid attachment to the vehicle's frame does not allow for any thermal expansion. The lack of expansion causes stress to be directed back toward the engine and results in cracked headers or catalytic converters. Capristo offers an upgraded mounting bracket that is a critical preventative maintenance item. The Capristo design uses four spring-mounted suspension points to allow for this heat expansion (up to 1.5 inches). If your exhaust components have already failed, DO NOT replace them without also replacing the mounting bracket with the Capristo Design as it will fail again. Both Capristo F430 exhaust systems (valved and free-flow) include this mounting bracket.***

These high-performance sport catalytic converters feature a 200-cell per square inch substrate made from the highest quality materials currently available, designed to improve airflow for your vehicle and increase performance. Additionally, Sport Cats include custom, hand-stitched heat blankets to reduce underhood temperatures while protecting the surrounding bodywork, hoses, and painted surfaces from residual heat damage. Specifically tailored to the cell count of a catalytic converter substrate, this refers to the number of holes per square inch and is a direct indication of the flow capabilities of that substrate. The fewer the holes, the larger the hole must be to fill a square inch; a larger hole subsequently allows more exhaust gas to flow.

All that high flow won't help if the substrate is "squeezed" into a small-diameter container or pipe. For this reason, CAPRISTO Sport Cats are packaged in 5.2-inch packages to maximize exhaust gas flow and valved exhaust system operation.

The CAPRISTO valved exhaust system helps with low-end torque by providing exhaust backpressure and increases temperature for proper catalytic converter operation. In the high-rpm open-valve condition, it takes full advantage of the free-flow characteristics of the CAPRISTO Sport Cats by optimizing the high-energy exhaust at the ideal temperature and backpressure to maximize performance.

These catalytic converters can be easily retrofitted to a CAPRISTO exhaust system or any system that fits directly over the OEM exhaust.

Replacing the OEM catalytic converter may activate a CEL (Check Engine Light).

To disable a recurring CEL, you will need to tune the ECU or use 02 sensor extensions.

For Ferrari, Audi R8, and McLaren applications, you can alternatively use Capristo's OBD Plug & Play wizard solution to remove the CELs.
