The Programmable On-Board Exhaust Remote Control Kit was designed by CAPRISTO to work with CAPRISTO exhaust valves, which open and close the exhaust valves on exhaust systems equipped with pressure ports. (Please note that this is a replacement unit in case your CAPRISTO remote becomes defective.)

The reason for controlling exhaust backpressure is to achieve a better engine torque band and maintain driveability across a wide range of conditions.

Today's high-performance engines prefer a free-flowing exhaust with wide throttle openings and high RPMs. With smaller throttle openings and low revs found in traffic, a slight increase in exhaust backpressure results in improved low-end torque and a more user-friendly engine. This pressure is controlled by one or more butterfly valves in the exhaust system.

With this programmable valve control unit, the opening and closing points of the exhaust valves can be set to your preference. The exhaust gas control unit constantly monitors the backpressure in the exhaust system while driving. When accelerating, the backpressure increases, and at a preset pressure, the controller opens the exhaust butterfly valves. This releases the backpressure and increases exhaust gas flow and power.

Three control modes are available.

The first is a cruise mode in which the valves open later and at higher exhaust pressure levels. This allows for a quieter and more comfortable ride.

The second is a sport mode that allows for faster valve opening for a more aggressive riding style.

The third mode leaves the valves in the open position. This is geared towards track use where higher rpm and constant full throttle application require free flow of exhaust gases.

The opening and closing points for the first two modes are user-programmable within certain safety limits.

The key fob supplied with the kit is a sleek unit with two extra buttons that can be used on other devices capable of receiving signals (444 MHz).

A built-in self-learning function allows you to program multiple remotes if needed. An additional safety feature is a failsafe that allows the exhaust valves to go to the open position in the event of an electrical failure or vacuum. This prevents damage to the engine and/or cylinder head from excessive heat buildup.

The supplied wiring harness already has connectors for the solenoid valve and controller.

The power and ground wires are the only wires that need to be terminated for your specific application.

This ensures a simple and hassle-free installation.
