BMW F8X M3/M4 V2

The F8X M3/M4 Eventuri system utilizes our patent-pending carbon fiber housing that provides an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the MAF tube. Not just another cone filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that recalls the Venturi effect.

The F8X M3/M4 intake system is one of our most ambitious intake systems to date. Now in an updated V2 design, it features sealed filter housings to maintain a more stable IAT, even when stationary. New ducts that seal the housings, paired with our scoops, ensure unrestricted airflow while maintaining low IATs via cold air saturation. Every detail was considered to ensure the creation of a flagship intake to set a benchmark for this platform. From scoops to ducts to intake tubes, we developed a “complete solution” to ensure a smooth intake path with cold air saturation. With a carbon weave that matches the OEM M Performance carbon, this is truly a new benchmark.

Below is a dynamometer graph showing how the Eventuri compares to the stock airboxes on a standard F80 M4. As you can see, power and torque are increased across a wide rpm range, not just at peak. On the road, this translates into increased response at half and full throttle, with the car pulling much more eagerly towards the redline. The tests were run on the same day back to back and temperatures were monitored to ensure consistency. Since dynamometer results vary between consecutive runs, this graph shows the highest horsepower figure achieved with the stock setup versus the highest figure with the Eventuri.

Since the F80 M4 is heat sensitive, dynamometer figures can vary between runs – we could have shown the highest figure achieved with the Eventuri VS the lowest achieved with the stock setup, however this would not be a fair comparison. Just to illustrate the variation, here is a graph showing the highest Eventuri VS the lowest stock, recorded that day, showing a gain of over 31bhp!

The Eventuri F8X M3/M4 intake system is made up of a series of components designed to perform a specific purpose and manufactured to the highest standards. Here are the details for each component and the design ethic behind them:

Each intake system consists of:

    • 2x Carbon Fiber Venturi Housings
    • 2x High-Performance Gen 2 Filter ... flow
    • 2 aluminum caps for smooth airflow entry
    • Left side carbon tube with integrated MAF sensor mount
    • Right side carbon tube with integrated MAF sensor mount
    • 2 sealed carbon fiber intake ducts
    • 2 carbon fiber front air intakes
    • Stainless steel brackets cut to size laser
    • High quality silicone joints with BMW specific hose clamps

CARBON FILTER HOUSINGS

The filter housings comprise high flow filters, aluminum caps, V-Band clamp, laser cut brackets and the patented carbon pods themselves. The carbon pods wrap around the reverse mounted filter and gently shape the airflow into the intake tubes. This geometry is reminiscent of the Venturi effect where the airflow accelerates while maintaining laminar conditions. It can be thought of as a large velocity stack - below is a diagram showing how our patented design compares to a regular intake system. Our custom filters help the airflow move through the housings and allow for a smooth velocity profile as the airflow exits the housings. Further details can be found on the Technology and Filters pages.

CARBON SEALING DUCTS

The filter housings are positioned with the openings sealed against the carbon ducts. These ducts are designed to fit into the stock cold air ducts and direct ambient air into the filters. These ducts seal the filter housing openings and prevent hot air from entering the filters.

CARBON INTAKE PIPES

Our intake pipes are made from 100% pre-preg carbon fiber. Each pipe has an integrated MAF sensor mount, CNC machined from aluminum. The shorter pipe on the left side flows seamlessly from the carbon housing to the turbo inlet pipe. The longer intake pipe on the right side must pass through the fan shroud and strut brace. To do this, we used the same principle as the stock pipe, changing the cross-section from a circle in the turbo inlet pipe to an oval for the distance above the shroud, then back to a circle at the end of the filter housing. We made sure these transitions were gradual so as not to interrupt the airflow, and we kept the cross-sectional area the same to keep the velocity through the tube constant.

CARBON VENTS

The final components of this system are the front vents, which are essential for directing ambient air into the ducts and then onto the filters. The scoops were designed for maximum efficiency in directing incoming air into the stock duct openings. Many aftermarket scoops have a large flat area that is nearly perpendicular to the incoming air, which is not ideal for directing air into the ducts as the airflow simply "hits" this flat area and creates turbulence. The Eventuri scoops were designed to sit directly behind the front grilles to capture as much air as possible and with a continuous curve at the duct opening to ensure this airflow is channeled efficiently.
